One of our nation’s longest-standing independent music publishers, Sheer Publishing Africa, is embarking on an exciting new chapter. They’re officially transitioning to becoming Downtown Music Publishing Africa! We celebrate and eagerly look forward to seeing how they’ll continue to grow and champion South Africa’s music scene across Africa and the world beyond.

A New Name. A Bigger Mission

When asked about this major change, Downtown Music Publishing Africa, shared these exciting words about the next phase of their evolution:

“After 30 years as Sheer Publishing Africa we’re excited to entrench our global partnership with Downtown Music and enter the future as Downtown Music Publishing Africa. This is more than a cosmetic exercise as we introduce an expanded suite of services including neighbouring rights administration, Downtown Clear (an easy clear US platform for production music) and become the first African publisher to implement the Curve royalty accounting system exclusively to our clients.
