MPASA at FAME Week Africa: Unlocking the Power of Sync Licensing

It was with great honour and excitement that MPASA received and accepted an invitation to participate in FAME Week Africa and help raise awareness about the role music publishers play in the African creative landscape.

FAME Week Africa was conference that took place from September 4th – 6th at Cape Town’s CTICC venue. Its purpose was uniting creative industry professionals from film, television, and music from across the continent and beyond. This dynamic gathering served as a melting pot of intriguing ideas and talent, by offering a diverse array of content sessions, music showcases, film screenings, exhibitions, professional development, and invaluable networking opportunities.

MPASA Panel at FAME Week

The main highlight of our participation in FAME Week Africa was the opportunity MPASA was given to host a panel, which included two of MPASA’s directors Rob Cowling and Thando Makhunga, titled “Harmonizing Narratives: Unleashing the Power of Music in Storytelling and the Business of Music.” This engaging session explored the intricate world of sync licensing by shedding light on how the strategic use of music in film, television, advertising, and digital media can elevate storytelling, evoke emotions, and enhance the overall viewer experience.

Looking Forward to the Future

FAME Week Africa has left an indelible mark on us, and we eagerly anticipate the opportunity to attend future editions of this extraordinary gathering.

We thank FAME Week Africa for their warm welcome, and we look forward to the possibility of attending and collaborating with them once again.
